The programme covering every relevant topic area in people leadership – in the scope your company needs, for individual leaders and entire leadership teams.
Very few leaders have had solid training in good people leadership.
Working with leaders at every level – regardless of company size or industry – I keep noticing the same thing: even basic employment-law knowledge, or a sound grasp of established leadership concepts that the business takes for granted as the basis for proper conduct, is often simply not there. That holds true even for concepts that have been in place at the company for years and should be applied independently – structured feedback conversations, for instance. Instead, people lead by instinct and on the basis of habit, often without input from specialists or any consideration of risk.
What goes unnoticed for a long time can tip over in an instant: a well-meant question about family planning, or a „young team“ in a job ad – and a rejection turns into a discrimination claim under the AGG (Germany’s General Equal Treatment Act) of up to three months’ salary. A poorly justified dismissal does not hold up before the labour court and ends in an expensive settlement. Your best people quit inwardly first, then for real – replacing them costs time, money and knowledge. And a casual exchange about sensitive employee data becomes a data-protection breach.
Pointing out such gaps to an experienced leader with years of responsibility – a seasoned operations manager, say – is personally delicate for the managing director or for HR: it touches on competence and standing, the roles are rarely equal, and you still depend on working with that very leader day to day. Many blind spots stay hidden from everyone involved anyway. After all, the path into leadership usually runs through technical strength and ambition; people leadership itself emerges on the side, as learning on the job or in a generic crash course on the change of role.
In day-to-day business, between client coordination and product development, there is rarely time for one’s own development in this field, or the personal focus is missing – even though employees are the very foundation that makes managing every other business priority possible in the first place.
This is exactly where HR BOOST! comes in: as a comprehensive, face-saving refresher across every relevant topic area. Where a topic is new to you, you build solid knowledge in a targeted way. Where you are already well versed, we work – in a protected setting – on your own complex cases, to professionalize your knowledge or to share your experience with colleagues and benefit from the mutual transfer.
13 % of employees in Germany have mentally checked out, 77 % do no more than their duty. The productivity loss to the German economy in 2025 was between €119.2bn and €142.3bn. Gallup attributes weak engagement to leadership, not to hiring.
That many employees in Germany name dissatisfaction with their leaders as a reason for resigning – second only to pay. The first to leave are those who have alternatives.
That is how far days lost to mental illness have risen since 2014; the average case lasts 28.5 days. According to the Fehlzeiten-Report, leadership behaviour is a central influence on engagement, absence and intention to leave.
In 2024 the German labour courts closed some 177,600 dismissal cases. 83 % ended in a settlement, only 3.6 % in a contested judgment.
That is the gap between employees with a good and with a weak leadership relationship when it comes to recommending their employer. In a candidate-driven market, it amplifies every departure.
In companies that actively invest in leadership quality and the working environment, high engagement averages 40 % instead of 10 %. The difference can be shaped.
Figures: Gallup Engagement Index Germany 2025 (published March 2026) · McKinsey “Great Attrition”, German sample 2022 · Fehlzeiten-Report 2024 and 2025, Scientific Institute of the AOK · Federal Statistical Office, Statistical Report on Labour Courts 2024. These studies report survey-based correlations, not causal effects.
Responsible leadership means not basing decisions on intuition or routine alone.
HR BOOST! gives a targeted refresh of the HR knowledge that matters most for leaders – compact, clear and practical. For assured team leadership through change, and a clear (re)positioning in the leadership role.
The seven topic areas are a selection: which ones and how many follow what the company actually needs – including the regulatory updates that are currently relevant. Recommended: two days for corporates and larger companies, one day for smaller ones.
Because not every company has an HR department, a works council or a leadership circle of ten. Where people responsibilities sit with the managing director or with one individual, the priorities shift – and the choice of topics shifts with them.

Fewer correction and coordination loops – with HR, with the managing director or with central specialist functions. Decisions land right the first time.
Higher employee satisfaction and retention, with lower legal and staffing risks for the company at the same time.
A company culture in which good leadership counts – and is visibly encouraged.
A first exchange about what you need and what the format can deliver.
Choice of topics, extent and format are matched to your company. The quote follows from that.
